Cox Academy is NOW enrolling for the 2022-23 School Year!

Cox Academy is a free public school that welcomes all students in Oakland and its surrounding communities regardless of race or ethnicity, color, ancestry, nationality, national origin, ethnic group identification, religion, physical or mental disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender, and gender identity or expression, or achievement level in administration of its admissions policies or education programs.

  • Cox Academy is proud to partner with Oakland Enrolls to help you choose the best Oakland public school - district or charter - for your child. Cox Academy is a public school, free and open to all students. English language learners and students with disabilities are encouraged to apply.

 

 

Families can call 510-246-2153 to submit applications or go to oaklandenrolls.org 

Once the application is submitted you should get a message within a week with an offer or waitlist number.  If an offer is not sent you can call the main office or email coxenrollment@efcps.net

STUDENT ENROLLMENT PROCESS FOR 2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR

  • Cox Academy currently has a few spaces available for the 22/23 school year, to learn about spacing in your desired grade level please contact us directly

  • If you already attend Cox Academy, you do not need to apply to attend again next year

  • Transitional Kindergarten is also offered at Cox Academy for children who turn five between September 2nd and February 2nd

At Cox Academy the following absolute preferences will be employed during a public random lottery:

  • First, siblings of existing students (living at the same address) will be offered a space.

  • Second, children of the respective school’s educators, administrators, and staff will be offered a space.

  • Third, residents within the Oakland Unified School District will be offered a space.
